VARIVENT® Vacuum valve
VARIVENT® vacuum valves are designed to hygienically protect tanks against vacuum. Protection is already guaranteed when the vacuum exceeds -2.5 mbar. To minimize cleaning work and protect the valve disc against burning, the seat ring is coated with a non-stick coating.
All elastomer seals used are FDA approved. VARIVENT® vacuum valves only require a fast response time when vacuum conditions occur. In addition, they have a secure seal in overpressure conditions.
- Optimized protection against polluting particles
- Ideal combination with VARITOP® tank safety system
- Fast reaction time
- Extra equipment
The hydraulic dimensioning of vacuum valves is always based on free draining. Vacuum protection during hot or cold cleaning is not considered.
If a vacuum occurs in the tank system, the valve disk is lifted by the vacuum. The incoming air flows through the valve from bottom to top. This provides optimized protection against contamination caused by ingress of contaminating particles. The valve is self-draining.
The functionality of the VARIVENT® vacuum valve can optionally be extended with a proximity switch, a pneumatic lift actuator and a heater.
VARIVENT® vacuum valves are most often used in combination with VARITOP® tank safety systems. This makes the brewing industry the main area of application.
The optional heater ensures full functionality even below freezing point, allowing for carefree outdoor use. Only one protection against weather and wind needed
Heater
Heating the vacuum valve is recommended when the temperature may reach the freezing point. It ensures that the valve disk does not freeze in the valve seat.
Voltage: 24 V AC, power: 20 W
Pneumatic Lifting Actuator (type A)
The pneumatic lifting actuator lifts the valve disk during tank CIP to further clean the valve seat. In addition to the valve body, the seat and gasket surfaces are also cleaned. The pneumatic lifting actuator can also be installed retrospectively.
Feedback (type E)
The proximity switch detects the valve position which is normally closed. As soon as the valve disk leaves the non-activated position, the contact switch is broken.
Two types of proximity switches are available
Proximity switch 24 V DC M18x1 for type E
2-wire connection
3-wire connection
Pneumatic Lifting Actuator and Feedback (type R)
Type R combines the pneumatic lifting actuator type A and the proximity switch type E. Function and application, see type A and type E.
